Single Serve Coffeemakers-Keurig Single Cup Brewers

I like coffee. Can't imagine my life without it. I prefer to start my day with fresh cup of coffee. My Major concern was-do I really have to brew the whole pot? Should I always mess with grinding before and cleaning after? What I really wanted was the way to make one fresh cup of coffee at a time. And this method has to be clean, easy and fast. Just one cup before I start my work.

I started my online research. Very soon I was able to find a solution that seemed acceptable. The Name of this solution is " Single Serve Coffeemaker". Reviews by various people helped me to find a good candidate for purchase: Keurig Special Edition B60 Brewer.

I compared Keurig to the Tassimo, and the Senseo. Out of those three, the Keurig seemed to be the best looking, the most durable, with the best heating and pumping mechanism, and has the largest variety of coffees and teas available. The reason for purchasing the middle model from the Keurig model line (they have entry level Keurig B-40 Elite Single Cup Brewing System, B-60 Special Edition Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System and top of the line-Platinum B-70 Brewer) was simple. It is less expensive than B70 but has almost all the same set of features including 3 different sizes of cups , temperature control and timer.

I really enjoyed this coffeemaker. It can make a cup of fresh coffee in less than one minute. No mess. If you want good coffee with a conventional coffeemaker, it is essential to grind it just before making. No grinding and still great aroma. Cleaning is simple, fast and painless. The main strength of this machine is quality and big assortment of coffee. Taste of coffee from the same type of K-Cup is very consistent. You can also brew tea and hot cocoa. With over 140 beverage varieties available, Keurig is sure to have the coffee, tea or other beverage you love.

One of my concerns was the price of one cup of coffee. You can get K-Cup for 0.40-0.50$. It is 2-3 times more expensive than the price that you'll pay for the same amount of gourmet coffee. However, if you'll think about the amount of coffee, left in your pot and wasted, this rat io does not sound so bad. This is the price that I'm ready to pay for convenience and the ability to drink various blends/roasts without wasting a whole pot.

Even better. Keurig is offering reusable K-Cup coffee filter. And with this filter you can use any kind of your favorite gourmet coffee to make jusr one cup of coffee. You are not limited to K-Cup assortment and the price per cup would be the same or even less than for conventional coffeemaker as soon as you are not wasting your coffee. The same flexibility and functionality, just clean your pot and you are ready to brew completely different kind of coffee for your next cup.

What about quality of coffee while using reusable K-Cup coffee filter?

I conducted an experiment. I opened K-Cup with my favorite Kenyan AA Extra Bold coffee and put this coffee into the reusable filter. And what a surprise! Exactly the same taste as from the K-Cup. The flavor is very consistent, with the same quality and aroma.

So, it all started when I just wanted a quick and easy cup of coffee that tastes good. Now I confess I love B-60 Single-Cup Home-Brewing System.
