Editorial Reviews:
For java junkies, this tool's just the thing for rounding out the espresso-making accessories. After measuring the ground coffee and putting it into your espresso machine's filter cup, it's important to pack down the grounds to ensure good results. The heavy, slightly rounded stainless-steel base does all the work, with virtually no effort on your part (after all, you haven't had your coffee). The broad, nonslip grip guarantees a solid hold while you tamp. --Cynthia Nims
Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: I love it! Comment: I'm surprised that the other reviewers are so unhappy with this tamper. I use mine every day and it works great. It's just the right size and weight for my machine plus it looks good and it takes up very little storage space. Customer Rating: Summary: Don't know why I bought this Comment: My Briel already has this built in. Customer Rating: Summary: Toy ... Comment: Buy a real tamper, not something designed by someone who evidently knows little about coffee making. The rounded edge is inadequate for even packing of your coffee, and without even knowing the diameter of the tamper you might as well save some cash and not pack at all. For proper extraction you have to get a tamper that fits _your_ filter. Customer Rating: Summary: Small tamper Comment: Keep in mind this is a smaller tamper for smaller home type machines. For most commercial machines it's just too small Customer Rating: Summary: Nice, but... Comment: This isn't a bad little tamper, but for not too much more Norpro has a tamper / measuring spoon combo, with the heavy round tamper on one end and a spoon to measure out just the right amount for one cup of crema on the other. Why have a single-purpose doodad when one can take the place of two?
