So far it makes a noticeable difference in air quality. Definitely worth the $10 I paid. Comment: I bought this little guy about 2 years ago for my husband & his allergies. About an hour after I plugged it in, I noticed a difference in the air quality. You can buy replacement filters for this item, but I rinse the filter out, dry it, & use it again. Also, this air cleaner provides a very small amount of white noise- which we like when we're sleeping. Purchase with confidence. Strong enough for one room only.
