Bodum CHAMBORD French Press Coffee Maker 1928-16 - The French-Press coffeemaker is a remarkably simple, almost earthy way of brewing rich, flavorful coffee or tea. Not as easy to use as an electric drip coffee maker, the French-Press brews coffee in about 5 minutes that is extremely flavorful and complex using no electricity. It's the type of coffee maker that our ancestors might have used centuries ago and, as such, enables coffee to be made virtually anywhere - even while camping outdoors. What you'll need is some pot with which you can make boiling water. The process is based on infusion - infusing the natural properties coarse-ground dark-roast coffee (or tea leaves) with boiling water, then separating the two to create an amazing, delicious, potent beverage.

Customer Rating: Summary: French Press Comment: The Perfect Cup of Coffee!!! Absolutely my favorite product to make my coffee. I've been changing products for years, and this is the best and easiest for clean-up (well, the Keurig is easier -- yet the Keurig is honestly a piece of junk). I really recommend this French Press!
Customer Rating: Summary: French Press Comment: Very good product, easy to use and the coffee tastes great if you buy very good coffee.
Customer Rating: Summary: It's Not Perfect But Still Satisfactory Comment: This coffee press does what it's supposed to do; however, I have some issues with it. First, the 8-cup size is more like 4 cups since most people drink out of mugs. Second, there's been a lot posted about the oils and particulates in the coffee being essential to a full-bodied cup of coffee, and so on. While that may be for some people, for others it results in heartburn. I've always used the drip method with a filter and have made fine coffee (everyone likes my coffee); but it was a slow way to go, especially with company, so I thought the Bodum would be more satisfactory. What I discovered with the press (even with coarse grind coffee) is that if tried to pour all the coffee out of the pot, I'd get lots of residue and coffee grounds in the cup. Since I buy expensive organic coffee, I'm not pleased with having to leave half cup of coffee in the pot. Now when I use the Bodum, I do a hybrid method and pour through a filter after I press it--which rather makes the coffee press redundant though a tad faster. Finally, to those people to whom such things matter, the Bodum looks good on the kitchen counter and will attest to your sophistication.
Customer Rating: Summary: No customer service Comment: I purchased two french presses and 6 replacement beakers. They break far to easily. When I contacted Bodum to ask how to care for the beakers, they replied with "how to purchase a new beaker" Thanks but no thanks I know how to do that.
Customer Rating: Summary: glass carafe broke easily Comment: I use a variety of french press coffee makers (whicheve is least expensive). The Bodum 4-cup press was not the least expensive but I wanted to try it anyway. The pouring spout of the glass carafe broke after the first week when it came into relatively gentle contact with another item in my sink. I went to our local Ross store and purchased a 3-cup french press from another brand for $3.99 + tax.
