Summary: A machine for the current economy!
Comment: This machine produces the nicest foam I've ever seen and there is no mess as with expresso machines. I have had mine for about two years, yet continued to purchase expensive coffee drinks at various places for convenience. Since most of us are carefully considering our budgets these days (or should be), one of the areas I realized I could save in was making my lattes and cappacino coffee drinks at home instead of paying $3-4 each for them at coffee retailers. I make a pot of very strong coffee or a little pot of expresso and then top with froth from my Froth au Lait--voila! Another advantage of this machine is that you can re-froth the milk, whereas that is harder to get good results from with a steam expresso machine. I used this machine to make hot chocolate flavored with hazelnut liqueur during the holidays and it was a huge hit with everyone. Can't say enough good things about this little gadget and add to that, it is a sign of the times. A great Christmas gift for that latte-lover who needs to spend less on coffee but thinks they can't do without it.

Comment: I got hooked on the BIGGBY Super Caffe Latte Breve a bit ago. I searched on line for some time trying to find a steamer/frother to enjoy something similar at home. I came across the Froth Au Lait and took a chance after reading quite a few positive reviews. I Love It, I Love It, I Love It.... I pour my 1/2&1/2 into the Froth Au Lait and hit the start button. I then pour my water into my Bunn coffee maker. By the time my coffee is done (less than 02 minutes) I'm pouring it into my mug and the frother is just getting done and turning off by itself (03 minutes). I still love my BIGGBY but am enjoying my home brew as well. Thank you Froth Au Lait

Summary: Great frother
Comment: We were initially planning on buying the Nespresso milk frother (at Williams-Sonoma), but were strongly discouraged from doing so by the saleswoman, who said that too many people were having problems with the frother. So we ended up buying this one to go with our Nespresso machine, instead.
Fantastic customer service. I didn't correctly lock in the frothing paddles when using and ended up with hot but non-frothy milk. I reached out to Froth-Au-Lait, and ended up receiving a personalized e-mail and speaking to a real person about the issue. Froth-au-lait was extremely gracious in helping me figure out how to make the frother work.
When it does work, the frother does its job perfectly. Milk comes out hot and frothy, but not too stiff. I usually use 2% or whole milk, which may be why the milk comes out so well. The frother holds enough milk for two decent sized lattes.
We've had the machine for six months now and use it four times a week, and it's still working great.
Cons: loud, a little annoying to clean. Also, if you don't lock the two frothing paddles in correctly, your milk will heat but not froth.

Summary: Frothing Unit Purchase
Comment: Brought the unit for a present - It was well received and workd as stated. Very easy and makes a lot of froth - I tried dry milk powder and froth was even thicker than when I used 1% milk. Adding liquid coffee favors makes it even better. Clean up is the only draw back - You really need to clean the tank out asap - After rinsing it out I put a few drops of dish soap - add water and turn it on to do a great easy job of cleaning the unit. Then I just flush with water and let it dry out.

Summary: Worked great, then died
Comment: Bought this machine a year ago when my old frother quit working and was not replaceable. The Froth au Lait worked very well, lots of froth and great for hot chocolate but was always too large to keep out and tedious to clean. Last month it began acting up and I realized that the heating element was running too hot and burning the milk. So now it's trash. Guess we got our money's worth since it was used quite often but certainly expected it to last longer than 11 or 12 months. Won't buy another.
