This handy electric kettle from Bodum is designed to have a permanent place at the kitchen counter using a minimum of space. Made of a heat-reinforced polypropylene plastic and a stainless steel heating element, it is an indispensable and practical everyday tool for cooking - and certainly when a fast boil is needed. The Bodum water kettle will automatically cut off power after the water boils a short while. No more dry boils!

Summary: This hot water pot is awesome I have been looking for something like this for years,
Comment: This hot water pot that shuts off the second the water comes to a boil its awesome never again will I burn a teapot of water on the gas stove. Its light and its hold about 2 full cups of boiling water it is a great invention to shut off on its own. If you boil water its the thing to have on your counter.

Summary: This lasted for six uses - and I carted it to Europe with me!
Comment: I bought this with some trepidation, having read the reviews that stated the kettle would only last a few months. However, I liked that it had a European plug with an American adaptor, as I was purchasing it for travel. I love my tea before bedtime and I knew there wouldn't be microwaves in the budget rooms I'd booked! I used it about four times at home to ensure I knew how it operated and packed it up and took it to Turkey. It worked there the first two nights. The third night I plugged it in prior to putting water in and there was a poof of steam and voila - the death of the Bodum. I am not advocating turning on a device without water, but isn't that what the automatic turnoffs are supposed to be for??? So here am I online searching for a more reliable product....

Comment: Had this for a few months and was happy to make my green tea at the office, used mountain spring water and there were mineral deposits on it immediately...which is not so dangerous. But then heating element rusted. ...looking for a different kettle as i write.

Comment: Bought this for travel to have in hotel. Light weight, easy to pack. Works fast and does exactly what it says. Boils water in minutes. Have continued to use it at home for tea. The top cover is easy to remove and only boiled water 2x before first use, never having any plastic smell at all. Like that using it rather than microwave. Have only had for 3 weeks, but no problems at all. A rating.

Comment: Good while it worked, but that was only for about 5 months. The 'on' switch started flickering from time to time, and now it doesn't work at all.
That's why I'm here online... shopping for a replacement!
