6 slice capacity. Convention baking function circulates heated air around food for a faster, more even cooking result. 2 sets of 3 quartz heating elements (1 set above and 1 set below) heat food 30% faster and allow ultra precise temperature control. Pate

Spotlight customer reviews:

Customer Rating: Summary: Danger. Fire Hazard. Comment: I bought this oven at Bed Bath & Beyond, and it was great for a while, everything most reviews said here. It is very stylish and full-featured, but only perhaps for a dozen uses, at least for me. After a month or so, the electronics malfunctioned and it stayed on while toasting bread, burning it to a crisp. I had to unplug it to turn it off -- the controls were totally unresponsive. I returned it to BB&B for a full refund (hurray for their excellent return policy!) and bought a regular, low-tech Cuisinart toaster instead.
Then I read some of the reviews here at Amazon.com and it turns out that some other folks have had similar problems. I do not recommend this toaster oven. It is a fire hazard. I am just lucky that it didn't turn on while I was out of the house or on vacation, as it has for some others who have posted here.
As with most other negative reviews at Amazon.com, I expect this one will sink to the bottom quite quickly. Best of luck to the consumer who buys this dangerous appliance!
Customer Rating: Summary: Appears to be well built, but... Comment: My out-of-warranty FBC2 toaster oven has an intermittent electrical problem. Most of the time it works perfectly well, but from time to time the buzzer will activate and sound muffled whether it's midway through the cycle or at the end, and the orange lights on the buttons will illuminate at random, usually buzzing at the same time. At times I have to unplug it. I would not purchase this oven again without at least a three-year warranty.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great little machine Comment: It's compact, easy to use and great little convection oven / toaster. I have been using it almost every day and happy.
Highly recommended
Customer Rating: Summary: Danger......Danger..... Comment: Danger....Danger
We bought this toaster oven based on the many very positive reviews. There were some 1 star reviews wherein the reviewer stated the toaster oven had caught on-fire, we stupidly dismissed these reviews as an anomaly. The day we set the toaster oven up we followed the instructions meticulously (heated the oven for 15 minutes with nothing in it). A day or so later my wife was toasting a lavash (again following the instructions to a "T"), when she opened the door to take the lavash out the toaster oven burst in to flames (12 inches high)....she shut the door and the flames went out. This is a lavash....no oil...nothing else in the oven.....what a scare!! If you must buy this oven read the other 1 star reviews wherein bursting to flames is discussed and proceed with EXTREME CAUTION!!!!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Surprisingly Good Comment: I'm surprised at how much my wife and I like this oven. Like many others, we started out looking to replace our old failed B&D toaster oven with something similar. Most of the other toaster ovens we looked at were very large, poorly built and use an awkward and unreliable looking dial timer for most functions. The seems to be no such thing as a good, cheap, small toaster oven anymore.
We began to look at more expensive ovens that might possibly do real cooking, and the clear winner in terms of apparent quality and good reviews was the Krups. We were put off by the high price but were almost ready to order one online when we lucked into a floor model for 1/2 price.
We've had it almost a year now and wouldn't hesitate to replace it for full price if we had to.
The things we love about it are:
The way it toasts! Toast, bagels and English muffins always come out evenly done and not dried out, and we like the countdown timer display.
The way it cooks! We've almost stopped using our large gas oven. We've made bread, pies, cakes, fish, pork chops and many other items in the Krups with terrific results. Most things cook at least 10-20% faster (without using the convection setting) than in our large oven and there is no need to preheat. We've found that we often need to reduce the cooking temp. setting by about 25-50 degrees, and shorten the cooking time for the best results. The six heating elements are fairly close to the food, but they cycle one and off in a pattern that keeps the oven very evenly heated without burning the surface of the food (although with tall or delicate items, a lower temp. and rack position is a good idea).
The controls are sturdy and intuitive, the display is large and clear and the "all done" beep is not obnoxious. We haven't missed the preprogrammed settings that come on the higher priced model. With the exception of the door closure mechanism (see below), the oven is well built and attractive. The mat finish is low key, attractive and tough although it does tend to collect dust and is a bit hard to clean, but it is preferable to a shinier finish. The crumb tray is easy to remove and clean. The outside does get hot, but hey, it's a small oven!
We are less than thrilled with:
The door closure! The spring loaded catch that's supposed to hold the door shut is poorly designed and often requires repeated closures to work properly. Others have also complained about this, and we are planning to contact Krups about a repair. It's a really annoying flaw in an otherwise nearly flawless product. Without this problem we'd give the oven 5 stars.
The interior space could be a little taller.
The convection fan is a bit noisy and our experience has been that it dries out the food. We may need more practice with it, but the conventional bake mode is so fast that convection seems like too much trouble.
