Summary: Excellent value!
Comment: The Mr. Coffee ECM21 is easy to use and clean. The value is unmatched and the performance has been trouble free since we got it. We have not had this machine for long but are very satisfied with it. It takes little counter space and the controls are intuitive. Though not made of the sturdiest materials (although, if you love your machine, you'll be gentle and attentive to proper maintenance), it is hard to imagine a better machine for the money. Well done, Mr. Coffee!

Summary: Get a Krups.
Comment: I bought this to replace a Krups espresso/coffee maker combo, and I should have listened to the other bad reviews. You get what you pay for. I have other Mr. Coffee products that I really like, but this is not one. Coffee is too slow to brew, tastes bad, and is awkward to set up in the first place. The components don't fit together well - I have to force the carafe into place. It's very cheap, and I wish I had forked over the dough and gotten a better machine.

Comment: poor quality. the drip coffee maker turns off for no reason. Button stays
in the on position, but the light goes off and it stops brewing. when i can get it to work, it Takes way too long, coffee is only sorta kinda warm. Does not taste good.
overall cheap feel, all lightweight plastic.
having said all that, the espresso part does work ok.

Comment: Works Great! Only thing that is missing is a clock and brew timer. If you like having a pot waiting for you when you get up this one won't do it. If I had known it didn't have a clock and timer I would have found one that did. Other than that it's a good coffee maker.

Summary: The smartest purchase, and greatest value!
Comment: I love my Mr. Coffee coffee and espresso maker. I was daunted by some of the negative reveiws it received, but I went ahead and purchased it anyway, because it was the only one I could afford. What a great machine! It does everything just like it's supposed to; it was so easy, I didn't even have to read the directions. The only thing I couldn't figure out at first was how the milk frother worked. I did not realize, (stupid me!) that of course you have to add MORE WATER THAN YOU NEED for the espresso, so that the EXTRA can be used for steam. Duh!!
I do not have a problem with coffee spilling everywhere, because I raise the lid with my thumb when I pour. And I think that the coffee is hot enough. Of course, I don't like my coffee scalding hot, either.
All in all, if I had it all to do over again, I would have done it sooner, and not spent so much time wondering and worrying about it. It truly is a remarkable machine for the price.
